My husband and I love Benchmark and we go here at least once a month. We particularly like going for happy hour or just going to the bar and getting a burger (which is a fatty, greasy, delight!). When they have it on the menu, my favorite side is their macaroni and cheese.
They have AMAZING staff (Dave and Adam are our favorite servers) and the owner, Megan, is a delight. I'm so happy this place exists in Perrysburg and I can't sing their praises enough. -

Not a terribly nostalgic guy by nature but this place makes popovers.
They are wonderful.
My mom made popovers.
Love!
I followed with the blackened shrimp and grits.
I felt like I was in New Orleans,
They were that good.
The spice was just right.
On top of all of this.
The two bartenders who served me were beyond professional.
Funny, engaging and you can tell they love their restaurant and the chef.
From Chicago but I will be back some day,
Cheers -

Based on everything I've read about Benchmark, I was expecting a 5 star experience; instead, I barely got a 4.
C.A.B.? B.F.D.
I think the reason a 10 oz filet costs $61 is because it's Certified Angus Beef (C.A.B.). Supposedly, C.A.B. is produced using a higher set of standards for beef, and these higher standards, supposedly, are very evident at the dinner table. Nah...no they're not. My steak was very good, but it wasn't THAT good. I will say that my 10 oz filet was very well prepared (perfect medium, thank you very much), succulent, and delicious, but was it "61 bucks delicious?" Methinks not. Rockwell's and Mancy's both serve an outstanding 10 oz filet for about 36 bucks.
My wife's sea bass was moist, tender, and light. Unfortunately, it was also a little light in flavor. It wasn't bad, but Rosie's does a better job.
My kids loved their chicken (not fingers, but breasts). Two nice big breasts. Who wouldn't love that?
Sides: The grilled cauliflower (seasoned with raisins, capers, etc) was great. One order serves 2 to 3 people. The cheesy grits? Nice texture, minimal flavor. Green beans and steak fries? Both were great, as per the kids.
Desserts: Nothing out of the ordinary...just what you'd expect for a place like this...very good but not great. Were they worth the calories? I'm not sure.
Drinks: The cocktails were excellent; the wife was happy on Mother's Day. Five stars for those. The beer and whisky selection? Not bad, but certainly nothing special.
Service: Brian did a great job. FFA, fast, friendly, accurate.
Atmosphere: Light and modern. Clean and comfortable.
Price: Expensive. I'm not a cheapskate...I've actually paid more for dinner for (only) TWO at Final Cut, Element 112, Kengo, etc. Those dinners were definitely worth it. Was Benchmark worth it? I not sure.
Does Benchmark establish a new benchmark for quality in the Toledo area. Nope. Four stars...and just barely. -

My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday because of the great Yelp reviews, and it did not disappoint. Service was phenomenal from the beginning when we were seated all the way to when we paid and left. Restaurant is nice and open which I prefer over stuffy and dark steakhouses. We ordered the fried cauliflower, crispy brussel sprouts, wedge salad, salmon, and steak frites.
Food was so tasty! I love cauliflower, and the capers worked surprisingly well with them. Brussel sprouts were crispy and sweet and I inhaled them. Wedge salad was pretty standard, but my boyfriend really liked the large chunks of bacon. Salmon was cooked perfectly but I do wish the bernaise was on the side since it was rather heavy. Chunky mashed potatoes and haricot vert were perfect accompaniments. I'm not a steak person but the crust on the steak frites was the right amount of saltiness and char. Fries are good but next time I'd substitute them for another side. I got the chocolate cake for my birthday, and it was less of a cake and more of a fudge consistency which I didn't complain about because I love dense chocolatey goodness. I'll definitely be back to try their other seasonal menus. Oh and the free bread is wonderfully cheesy and light. -

It is not rare for me to love a restaurant.
It is rare for me, over a year after opening, to be able to say just reading the menu online makes me plan a trip to a city to visit a restaurant.
Benchmark is this rare restaurant.
I have had several meals here since opening at various times of the week and day and each and every time the service, atmosphere and food is excellent.
I truly appreciate the quality of the menu and the preparation and the pairings.
